O.P.T.Y-01

O.P.T.Y-01 is the first garment of the O.P.T.Y. collection.
Vest and belt were fully made with laser-cut acrylic tiles, and acrylic balls are also attached. For convenient movement, jump rings are attached throughout the vest. The skirt and bra are both made of leather. It was designed with the theme of geometric shapes in mind, resulting in the square, rectangle, and circle shapes in the look.

Combining traditional methods and exploring new ways to make a garment by dealing with vibrant colors and geometric shapes. The main materials used are acrylic tiles and leather.

Geometric shapes and primary colors were more traditional elements that were widely used, not only in fashion but also in design. I wish to take traditional materials and combine them with futuristic elements by finding new ways to create a garment. During my process, I incorporated laser cutting. My thesis experiments with discovering ways of being able to construct a garment with the main elements of geometric shapes, products, and fabrications.

Because the garments are futuristic, the photoshoot concept was retro futurism. Photoshoots were taken in Chinatown and arcade to give off the combination of futuristic vintage.
