O.P.T.Y-03

O.P.T.Y-03 is the final garment of the O.P.T.Y. collection.
As the final look of the collection, it continues on with the geometric theme. Inspired from circular shapes, the skirt was designed by combining 6 different oval patterns to create a circular form of the skirt. Each pattern is attached with boning to maintain the shape. The skirt was double faced with iridescent organza and dyed latex to give off a futuristic look.

Combining traditional methods and exploring new ways to make a garment by dealing with vibrant colors and geometric shapes. The main materials used are leather, iridescent fabric and transparent dyed latex fabric.

Geometric shapes and primary colors were more traditional elements that were widely used, not only in fashion but also in design. I wish to take traditional materials and combine them with futuristic elements by finding new ways to create a garment. During my process, I incorporated laser cutting. My thesis experiments with discovering ways of being able to construct a garment with the main elements of geometric shapes, products, and fabrications.

Because the garments are futuristic, the photoshoot concept was retro futurism. Photoshoots were taken in Chinatown and arcade to give off the combination of futuristic vintage.
