All of Me
Date
June 2019
Description
Media: Color pencil and ink on vellum
Size: 16” x 36”
Throughout my life, I have lived in four different countries and have been exposed to various cultures. For each country that I have lived in, I designed clothing that symbolizes what that country meant to me. From right to left, the countries that I am depicting are: Russia, Canada, Korea, and the U.S. The blue outfit portrays the harsh winters of Russia, while highlighting the fond memories I have with my friends in warm colors. The red swimsuit is an homage to the dreamcatcher I hung on my wall in Canada and the maple tea that I drank as I watched the leaves fall during the autumn months. The green dress represents the pear trees that were in full bloom when I was born in Korea. Finally, the cowgirl suit decorated with a unicorn shows my resolve to conquer my dreams in the United States, no matter what challenges may come my way.
