The Most Radiant Lady

Set in a 19th century French shopping arcade, this work portrays an unspoken competition among four women to overshadow one another. In this competition, one woman, the Most Radiant Lady, effortlessly outshines her competitors. Although she is cropped and only half of her face is depicted, she has the strongest presence in the room. The other three women, wearing the “haute couture” of the era, cannot compete with the Lady, whose presence itself is a call for attention.
